Badgerland FOOLS @ 2 Alarm Fire
At 2:12 am, on Thursday, April 9th, 2009 the Sun Prairie Fire Department and Blooming Grove-Burke-Maple Bluff EMS, were dispatched to the Burke Station Tavern for a report of a structure fire. The Burke Station Tavern is located at
5291 Felland Road , in the Town of
Burke .
The basement of the Tavern was filled with smoke. Just prior to the 911 call to report the fire, a bartender, who was closing up the tavern, heard a noise in the basement, and when he went to investigate he was turned back by a large amount of smoke. After calling in the fire, the bartender went to the apartments located above the tavern to evacuate two residents and a dog. There were no injuries as a result of the fire, and all were evacuated safely.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
